Footings in Ferndale
Foundations start with the footings, assuming that the site work has already been done. Footing pours are relatively easy as they set up quickly and don’t have surfaces that require a special finish. Of course, because they are at the base of the foundation, they need to be done properly.
The husband is doing another small house foundation south of us. The guys formed the footings on Monday:
They poured the footings on Tuesday.

The wall forms will get constructed on top of these footings. The rebar is there for added strength. I am not sure what the timeline for the wall pour is but I’ll find out.

The husband is pouring a slab today because we’re still up in the high 30s. I’m still expecting us to get hammered by weather in February, just after Mother Nature lulls everyone into thinking it will be a mild winter.
