Unboxing the April Tool Crate
Last week brought the arrival of another Tool Crate shipment. This box was smaller than previous boxes:
But filled with all sorts of fun goodies.
A 10” Knipex pliers wrench:
A “baby Knipex” which I snagged for my toolbox (it was too small for the husband’s hands):
A Bitmag aluminum bit holder which screws to the side of a cordless drill and holds the bits at the ready:
A Holstery tactical tape measure holder, made by a guy in Moscow, ID, which the husband liked so much that he ordered three more items from the same seller:
A Gripit Marxman marking tool:
The Squi.Jig 1-1/4” custom framing jig, for laying out stairs:
A Bosch 4pc natural stone tile bit set:
And sadly, one clunker, the Flir VP40 voltage detector:
The husband put in the batteries, turned it on, and—nothing. When I opened the top to take out the batteries, one of the connectors fell out. The solder inside must have broken, and it was too tiny (way too tiny, even for my fingers) to put back together. The husband was going to provide feedback to Tool Crate. They are very responsive to issues with the tools they curate for each box.
Speaking of tools, the dealer delivered my new John Deere x384 tractor yesterday. We’ll be trying that out this weekend. I’m in charge of lawn care here, so that’s my new baby.
